In the summer of 1997, within the dankest recesses of Dartmouth College's Kiewit Computing Center, Ibn was introduced to Avatar between rounds of Classic Quake deathmatch by a four old high school friends. They played together for the summer and during the following couple of academic years. Eventually however, Ibn's exploits in academia pushed him ever further away until his first mortals would be purged due to inactivity. His return home in 2004 was well met by a significantly more evolved MUD, old friends never forgotten, and a renewed joy in text-based gaming.
His invitation to the immortal ranks came late in 2006, after an established history of development and administration on the Avatar web site, and having contributed his first area to the game.
When around, he is always available for conversation, whether to help sort out a problem or just to shoot the breeze. He occasionally runs impromptu quests involving candy, omnipotent extra planar beings, and/or certain doom.
