The AVATAR experience begins with low mortal, commonly referred to as 'lowmort'. At creation, new players can choose one of our 23 different races and one of our 7 base classes for their character. A new player starts the adventure at level 1, in MUDSCHOOL. The low mortal tier spans levels 1 to 50 and there are over 120 different areas that one can explore on their journey. As experience is gained, a character gains the ability to train new skills, spells, and attributes.
The lowmort tier is favored by some players in the realm because it is a dynamic, fast paced game. Gear is constantly in need of improvement, and with each level comes the possibility of more power. Low mortal is a time to become acquainted with your character. Will you be an amazing damage dealer? Or will you be better suited dodging and parrying enemy attacks? Will you become an intelligent spell caster? Or should you rely on brute strength and skill with a sword? Lowmort is the time to find out the special niche that you and your character fill in AVATAR. Enjoy it while it lasts though, after the quick journey through lowmort, you will experience the daunting HERO tier. Before heroing--depending on your race, class and some other factors--you may be able to diversify your character by transitioning to a PRESTIGE CLASS.
