I would just like to say that I voted for a mixture of both, this is bacause I like the randomness of HoG's but living in Australia, the immortals that are available to run a HoG either need to be up late or extremelly early to host one that I am available for. I understand that Immortals do what they can and I dont expect anyone to go out of their way to accomodate any group or time zone. You asked for comments, I have provided, I hope that it is helpful.
To imagine is to live, to live is to create, to create is to imagine
I like the idea of a mixture of both, the randomness can benefit non-east-coast-USA-players and a fixed, short, scheduled HoG may accomodate those planners type players. I personally thought there would be 2, maybe 3 hogs total and not random ones all day.
In addition the random and shorts are good because you don't get zone wipes with ppl staging alts.

Personally I like scheduled. As a married man with a wife and two children and family visits it is easier to schedule when I know the times then randomly log on.
I voted for both because I like HoGs in general.
In all seriousness though I like random HoGs because it rewards the people who put more time into playing Avatar. On the flip side of this, if the entire reason for having the HoG is to celebrate something, it would be nice to try and pick some time during the day and say that 'In addition to random HoGs throughout the day I'm planning to start a HoG between five and seven server time.' to try and give the more busy people a chance to join in on the fun.
That's the reasoning behind my vote. Also, I don't know why anyone would interpret it that way, but in case you do, I wasn't criticizing Cerdwyn or anyone else for not being able to be more specific about when they would be running HoGs.
