The old magician was ready to retire. He told the immortals of his plans
to leave the business of magic and live a more leisurely life with his
Half-Elf wife, enjoying their extended family. Of course, he would miss
the excitement, but he needed to retire. They could get by without him
easily.
His immortal friends were terribly sorry to see this good worker go, and
Together, they asked if he could create one final incantation to build a
beautiful castle.... as a personal favor. The elderly magician reluctantly
agreed, but in time it was easy to see that his heart was not in his work.
He resorted to poor research, inarticulate phrases, and used inferior
materials. It was an unfortunate way to end his career.
When the magician finished his work and the immortals came to inspect the
castle, the Implementer handed the gate key to the magician and said,
"This is your house, our gift to you."
What a shock. What a shame. If he had only known he was building his own
castle, he would have done it all so differently. Now he ws obligated to
live in the home he had built none too well..... And so it is with us.
We build our lives in a distracted way, reacting rather than acting,
willing to put up less than our best. At important points we do not give
the job our best effort. Then, in a state of shock, we look at the
situation we have created and find that we are now living in the castle we
have built. If we had realized that, we would have done it differently.
Think of yourself as the magician. Think about the castle you are
building. Each day you place a board or erect a wall. Build wisely. It is
the only life you will ever build.. Even if you live it for only one day,
that day deserves to be lived graciously and with dignity.
The magician discovered a plaque on the gatehouse wall which read, "Life
is a do-it-yourself project." What could say it more clearly? Your life
today is the result of your attitudes and choices in the past. Your life
tomorrow will be the result of your attitudes and the choices you make
today.

When I think upon my lowmort and low hero levels I am reminded of a Calvin
and Hobbes comic strip. In it Hobbes points out a bug to Calvin and trys
to ask what it is. Before he can finish his question Calvin stomps the
bug and Hobbes asks instead what was it.
The same thing occurred for me. I was always too busy destroying mobs to
get those levels or that vital piece of gear to pay attention to the
details of the area I was in. Sure, I did enough exploring to know where
that special piece of gear is and which areas were good for experience.
But the builders of these areas went into much more detail than this.
Each area has its own story or theme which someone labored hours to create
for your enjoyment. Room and creature descriptions rich with detail to
bring the areas to life in your mind's eye are out there. It only takes a
few moments to look around or, if you are bored, explore those areas that
you have outgrown to get a glimpse of the world the builder was trying to
create for you.
Avatar can be leveling, a place to meet with friends, and even a place
rich with stories. If you only stick with one of these facets you are not
seeing the entire jewel available for us to enjoy.

Dancing in the moonlight
Softly, slowly, majestically
Everything was all right
As I danced beneath the moon
So caught up in dancing
I didn't realize
What the moonlight did bring
For there was Arwen, standing there
"My little dancing Sprite," the ghost did say
"What has you so happy and content
this quiet and uneventful day?"
I did not pause in my dancing, but thought I did
Finally I laughed my Spritely laugh quietly
"I'm happy because
of everything I see around me
because of the friends I have
because of the simply joy of living
I am happy
And no, I am not fibbing
I speak the truth, I dance to it."
Arwen just smiled, and took my hand
And slowly, softly, majestically
We danced all across the land
Celebrating the little things.

4. All-you-can-do-while-Mudding Superthingy 2000! By YoYo

Tired of getting out of breath walking to the refrigerator?
Tired of sacrificing a tan for 1 more hour of grouping?
Tired of getting rejected because of dorky scrawniness?
Well too bad.
BUT! There is hope! With Yoyo's new All-you-can-do-while-Mudding
Superthingy 2000!
All you need to do is follow these 10 easy steps.
1) While sponging, do 20 pushups for every 1k xp.
2) While regenning, do 50 situps.
3) While in backstab lag, do a jumping jack.
4) While sitting on who group doing nothing, go run around your house 3
times.
5) While questing, walk to the back(or front) of your house and back.
6) While chatting, stretch those thighs and calves.
7) While in spellup lag, quickly lift your sibling above your head.
8) At the end of spellup lag, throw him/her as far as you can onto the
couch.
9) While being gear spammed, work that voice box with random curse words.
10) And finally, while afk, go outside. *gasp*
Remember to stretch before you do anything in this list. Yoyo is in no way
responsible for any injuries occured during this exercise program. Claudia
Schiffer and other celebrities will be guest appearing in the video to be
released January 1st, 2041.
The last step is very difficult to accomplish, but is the key to success.

"Though the cold brittles the flesh,
the chain of duty cannot be broken,
for it is forged in the hearts own fire,
which cold can never extinguish.
Though the duty may be odious
the death of comrades many,
what we do; we do for honour,
for our people, for our Empire.
Now my brothers fall about me,
and the Gods have turned thier faces away,
Yet I -- fight on.
For if my line should die,
it dies with its teeth in the enemys throat,
it dies with its name on the enemys tongue,
for just as mere life is not victory,
mere death is not defeat,
and in the next life I shall kill the foe a thousand times,
laughing,
Undefeated."
